Dr Muhammad Rafiq

Dr. Muhammad Rafiq is a Consultant Neurologist at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Trust, where he is also the MND Centre Co-Director.  Dr. Rafiq was trained with Prof. Dame Pamela Shaw and was awarded MSc and PhD by the University of Sheffield for his research on Motor Neurone Disease (MND), including genetics of MND, biomarkers of disease progression and respiratory and nutritional management of MND.  He has presented and published extensively in these areas on international platforms and has won several research prizes, including the MND Association’s International research symposium prize and North of England Neurological Association’s Crawford prize for clinical research.
